Beginning as a framing carpenter in 1988, Rick Storlie, Founder and President of New Home Sales Coach, truly learned this business from the ground up! While completing his BS in Speech Communication, Mass Communication and Real Estate, Rick enrolled in an internship with Coldwell Banker the summer of 1992. After completing his internship, Rick finished his degree while selling real estate over the next nine months, ending up as a top 10 producer in an office with over 50 real estate agents. In September of 1993, a local home builder out of Northfield, MN, a small college town, had an opportunity for Rick to sell new homes. Without any formal sales training, Rick learned the sales process in the trenches and climbed to the top of the builder’s sales force in 1994, 1996 and 1997. In 1999, Rick was promoted to sales manager and the daunting task of managing his former peers. It was during this time that Rick realized the value of education and becoming “consciously competent” in new home sales and management. Beginning with the 2000 International Builder Show, Rick took his “street” experience and paired it with formal education. Over the years Rick has had the opportunity to learn from top new home trainers such as Tom Richie, Bob Schultz and Myers Barnes. He has obtained the CSP (Certified New Home Sales Professional), CMP (Certified New Home Marketing Professional), the MCSP (Master Certified New Home Sales Professional) and is a candidate for the prestigious MIRM (Member, Institute of Residential Marketing) from the National Association of Home Builders. Rick has had the good fortune to serve as a new home specialist, sales manager and general manager for both small and medium volume home builders. After personally selling or managing nearly 200 million dollars in new home sales, the ultimate lesson Rick teaches is that sales and marketing education is always an on-going process. Much like a professional sports team, the planning, organizing, technology and practice done away from the “field of play” is in direct relation to how a team performs on “game day.” Our Mission: To create a harmonious home buying experience by consistently improving the knowledge base of every new home sales professional and home builder we serve. |
